Comprehensive assessments

Functional capacity assessments

A Functional Capacity Assessment helps you understand what you can do in your daily life and the support you require to live more independently ensuring you have the right level of support and funding to improve your quality of life.

Child developmental assessments

Developmental assessments in occupational therapy look at how your child is developing, including their motor skills, cognitive skills, social and emotional skills sensory processing and self-care.

By assessing these areas, the therapist can identify any delays or difficulties and develop a plan to support your child’s growth and development.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) assessments

SIL assessments help identify the specific assistance a person needs for their daily activities such as personal care, cooking or managing their home.

By understanding the individual strengths and areas where support is needed, a tailored support plan can be developed ensuring individuals receive the right level of assistance.

Receiving the right support enhances their independence and confidence. It also plays a crucial role in securing funding and resources from the NDIS ensuring that the individual has access to the necessary services to live a fulfilling and self-directed life.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

The SDA is an assessment process that evaluates the specific housing needs of individuals with significant disabilities to ensure they live in a safe, accessible and supportive environment.

Our occupational therapists play a crucial role in the assessment by identifying physical, cognitive, and sensory requirements and matching those with appropriate housing features.

We consider aspects such as mobility, safety, and the need for assistive technology or equipment, ensuring the accommodation is tailored to support the individual’s independence.

Our expertise helps guide the person and their support network in selecting the most suitable SDA option that aligns with their long-term living needs.

Assistive technology assessments

The purpose of an assistive technology assessment is to evaluate a person’s specific needs and determine the right tools or devices that can help them perform daily tasks more easily and independently.

This assessment considers the individual’s physical, cognitive and sensory abilities to recommend technologies like communication devices, mobility aids, or adaptive equipment.

By matching the right assistive technology to the persons needs these assessments can significantly enhance their independence improve their ability to participate in everyday activities and increase their overall quality of life.

The right technology can empower individuals to overcome challenges, reduce reliance on others and engage more fully in their community.

Home/environmental modifications assessments

Home environmental modifications are changes made to a person’s living space to improve accessibility, safety, and independence for individuals with disabilities.

These modifications can include installing ramps, widening doorways, adapting bathrooms, or adding handrails.

The purpose is to create a home environment that accommodates the person’s specific needs, reducing the risk of injury and enabling them to navigate their home with greater ease.

By making these adjustments, individuals with disabilities can live safely and comfortably in their own homes maintaining their independence and enhancing their quality of life.

Individual OT sessions customised to each person’s needs

Our service offers individualised occupational therapy sessions that are customised to meet each person’s unique needs and circumstances.
